  I have The Best Idea

  At Overall Baby, we are reinventing the look of children overalls. From the boring basic denim to fun fabrics and prints. Our overalls offer the practicality of overalls but with a fashionable twist.

   

  Here's What I'm Thinking...

  My idea is very much what the name of my company implies, overalls for babies. Why overalls and why now? Because overalls are super economical. Straps adjust so children can easily grow into them which helps to extend its shelf life. Plus, overalls are an iconic American item. Overalls were a popular item worn by laborers and farmers during the industrial age, and since we're in a sort of second age of industrialism fueled by innovation, creativeness, craft and DIY, we think our overalls done with a twist fits in perfectly with the current times.

  Our overalls sway from the traditional denim. What we are well known for is our use of bright colors and prints. Something unique to our line and market is the cotton lined overall, which gives it a finish and weight similar to khaki chino. Our bright prints add a fashionable element to our overalls. Our overalls offer practical and fashionable play clothes to hip parents.

   

  $1,000 will...

  A total brand make-over! Something we have been in need of for a very long long time. Although our name is unique and memorable, we can't really say the same about our logo. Currently, its a simple font and nothing more. We want to create a logo design that ties in with the brand name. Something fun and unique, just like our products.

   

  About me:

  Well, I started playing with the idea of creating my own unique brand of children overalls in College. At the time, I was working for a clothing line well known for their work wear items such as painter pants and of course overalls. During my stay with the company, I learned about the fashion industry and most importantly, came to learn more about overalls.

  After College, I pursued other interests, so my dream of starting my own overall collection was put on the back burner, but that all changed when I was laid off from my job in Finance. I was an avid crafter and sewer at the time and was going through a fascination with fabrics and prints. That's when it hit me to combine my two loves. Textiles and prints with overalls.

  When I'm not working on my business, which is not too often, but those rare occasions, you can find me indulging in my other passions. They include yoga, surfing and volunteering.
